Major success of Epiphany Journal

Major success of Epiphany Journal

Since 2008, Epiphany: Journal of Transdiciplinary Studies has been promoting scholarly research in humanities and social sciences. Being very unique journal, Epiphany purposefully promotes a holistic and transdisciplinary research, thus integrating both social sciences and humanities in a single whole. Epiphany is one of very few journals in the Western Balkans that publishes its articles in English language and by default provides a platform for the Balkan’s academia to present their originals research works to the rest of world. Epiphany with English language as a medium enables prominent international scholars and researchers to explore local and regional works on the Balkans. Moreover, Epiphany is research gate to the Balkans for prominent international researchers who frequently publish their works aiming the Balkan’s audience. Certainly, in the past seven years our journal has been successful in filling this scholarly research gap.

Besides, the Editor-in-Chief and Dean of Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muhidin Mulalić attracted the members of the Editorial Board with research, scholarly and international standing and reputation. Therefore, local and internationally recognized scholars, reviewers, contributors and authors, significantly increased the visibility and impact of Epiphany. In journal’s short history eight volumes and twelve issues included more than 130 articles, published by authors ranging from North America, across the Europe, Middle East, Asia and Africa. Actually, more than 50% of published articles in Epiphany are from abroad. Epiphany has been indexed in more than twenty indexes, scholarly databases and online libraries, which makes journal available to many educational institutions and academia across the world. Some of these databases in which Epiphany has been included are EBSCO: Humanities International Complete, Humanities International Index, Humanities Source, European Reference Index for the Humanities and the Social Sciences (ERIH-PLUS), DOAJ: Directory of Open Access Journals, CEEOL: Central and Eastern European Online Library. Regional standing and visibility of Epiphany could be significantly illustrated by recent evaluation of our journal in Index Copernicus. According to this index in 2014 Epiphany has ICV value of 88.24 that places our journal among most prominent journals in the Balkans region.

Considering short history of Epiphany, the Editorial Board is happy with current standing and reputation of the journal. However we plan to index Epiphany in Social Sciences Citation Index and SCOPUS latest by 2020. Epiphany has been included and listed in many online libraries such as Harvard University Library, Stanford University Library, Oxford University Library, Cambridge University Library, Birmingham University, Glasgow University, National Library of Australia, Cornell University Library, University of Alberta Library, Library of Ottawa University, and many others.  In 2015 the Editorial Board successfully published two issues. One of them was the Special Issue on “Education, Culture and Identity: New Trends and Challenges of Today’s Europe.” Currently, the Editorial Board is preparing December issue. We would like to use this opportunity to invite prominent scholars to send their manuscripts for future issues of Epiphany.
