International University of Sarajevo organized an Orientation Week from September 27th to September 29th for its new freshman students to introduce them to their study programs and help them get acquainted with their deans, program coordinators, IUS offices and the campus. The Orientation Week was organized in 3 days for 5 IUS faculties in accordance with the safety measures prescribed by the state relevant authorities.
The first day of the Week was dedicated to the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences (FENS), while the next day was reserved for the students of the Faculty of Business and Administration (FBA) and Faculty of Law (FLW). The last day of the orientation was dedicated to the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS) and Faculty of Education (FEDU). Faculty Deans as well as the program coordinators addressed the freshmen giving them useful information about their curricula, guidelines for course registration and student responsibilities.
IUS Rector Prof.Dr. Ahmet Yıldırım welcomed the freshmen of each Faculty to the International University of Sarajevo and wished them a successful first year of their academic journey. He expressed his satisfaction with the start of the on-campus classes emphasising the need to preserve a safe and healthy environment and recommending students to get vaccinated against COVID-19.
For each session, the IUS Student Affairs Office, International Relations Office and Student & Career Center introduced the new students to their services and how they can help them when needed. Afterwards, new students were taken on a campus tour where they had an opportunity to visit the Research Development Center, IUS sports hall, IUS gym and all other facilities at the IUS campus.
New students were welcomed to the IUS family and advised to use their time efficiently during their studies.
IUS wishes new students a healthy and prosperous academic year ahead.
