On Monday, August 1st, 2016, the first free IT training for girls has started in Srebrenica. The free training in programming from the Birač region is organized by ITGirls initiative. One of the lecturers was Rialda Spahić, IUS student, who helped the project.
On August 1-5 in the Library in Srebrenica, 11 girls from Srebrenica and Bratunac had an opportunity to work on web development using HTML, CSS and JavaScript. The workshops are designed for group works so everyone can be involved in the projects.
This training will also cover other topics like teamwork, communication, public presentation and password security on the internet. Organizations which gave a contribution to this projects are UN Bosnia and Herzegovina, UNDP BiH, UNICEF BiH and UN Women BiH.
Rialda’s example shown that members of IUS family are always the first in terms of teaching and contributing to the social projects.
