The International University of Sarajevo (IUS) successfully concluded the IUS Student Photo Contest 2026, titled “Concrete Jungle,” as part of the broader IUS SDG Week 2026 initiative. The contest invited students to creatively explore and document urban life through the lens of sustainability.

Held from April 22 to May 5, 2026, the competition encouraged participants to capture powerful visual stories reflecting key Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including Reduced Inequalities, Sustainable Cities and Communities, Climate Action, and Life on Land. Students were invited to use photography as a medium for raising awareness about the relationship between urban environments and sustainability challenges.

The awards ceremony took place during SDG Week 2026 at IUS, where the best entries were recognized for their creativity, originality, and meaningful storytelling. The winning students received prizes in recognition of their outstanding achievements.

The winners of the “Concrete Jungle” category are:
1st place: Adi Mavrić
2nd place: Esma Čurić
3rd place: Arma Krdžalić

Their photographs stood out for their ability to transform everyday urban scenes into compelling visual narratives about sustainability and the future of cities.
