IUS Research Presented at ASICE 2026

ASICE 2026

Asst. Prof. Nejira Mulahmetović from the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS) at the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) presented co-authored research at the ASICE 2026 International Conference, held under the theme “Forging Sustainable Futures through Arts, Language, and Education.”

The paper, titled “Exploring Multicultural Education for Readiness Product Design Program in Higher Education Teaching Framework,” introduces a conceptual framework that connects Multicultural Education Theory, Culture in Product Design, and Instructional Product Design with the aim of strengthening multicultural readiness in higher education design programs.

The research addresses an increasingly important challenge in contemporary design education: preparing future designers not only with technical and creative competencies, but also with the ability to understand cultural contexts, recognize diverse values and behaviors, engage responsibly with cultural heritage, and design inclusively for global communities.

By linking multicultural education with SDG 4 – Quality Education and socially responsible design practice, the study contributes to wider international discussions on how higher education institutions can prepare graduates for increasingly diverse and interconnected societies.

The participation of Asst. Prof. Mulahmetović at ASICE 2026 reflects IUS’s continued commitment to international research, interdisciplinary academic exchange, and the development of innovative approaches to education and design.

Through research that connects culture, inclusion, sustainability and creative practice, IUS continues to strengthen its international academic presence and support scholarly work that responds to contemporary social and educational challenges.
