International University of Sarajevo (IUS) is proud to be part of the first Maker Faire taking place in Sarajevo on May 28th and 29th. Students and staff from Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, Genetics and Bioengineering, Software Engineering and Psychology study programs as well as representatives of the IUS Research and Development Centre and Aviation student club are presenting their creative projects and innovations.
Maker Faire is the Greatest Show (and Tell) on Earth, launched in the USA in 2006—a family-friendly festival of invention, creativity and resourcefulness, and a celebration of the Maker movement. Maker Faire is primarily designed to be forward-looking, showcasing makers who are exploring new forms and new technologies. It features innovation and experimentation across the spectrum of science, engineering, art, performance and craft.
The two-day Maker Faire Sarajevo will bring together more than 100 exhibitors from BiH and the region divided into different zones such as the high-tech zone, kids-teen corner, STEM workshops and schools, EDU zone, VR and drone teams as well as representatives from various companies and the industry.
IUS will showcase its works and practical project designs which will include 3D printing, drone simulator, microcontroller experiments, 3D and 2D architecture models and modelling software, set of experiments from genetics and bioengineering as well as interesting virtual reality and artificial intelligence experiments.
Maker Faire is taking place at Skenderija (plateau and Dom mladih) and is open to all on Saturday (May 28th) from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm and on Sunday (May 29th) from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.
