It was a great pleasure and honor for the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) to host the 4th Management Committee and Working Group (MC/WG) Meeting of COST Action AtheroNET, held from May 14th to 16th, 2025.
AtheroNET is a pioneering European research initiative aimed at creating a robust international network of experts focused on combating atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease. By integrating multiple omics technologies with cutting-edge machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) approaches, AtheroNET seeks to revolutionize the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of this widespread condition.
Over the course of three dynamic days, more than 75 scientists from across Europe gathered at IUS to share groundbreaking research through lectures, presentations, and a poster session. The meeting served as an exceptional platform for fostering collaboration and advancing scientific knowledge in the field of cardiovascular health.
We extend our sincere gratitude to all participants for their invaluable contributions. A special thank you goes to the scientific organizers — Miron Sopić, Yvan Devaux, and Paolo Magni — and our dedicated local organizer, Prof. Kanita Karađuzović-Hadžiabdić, for their outstanding coordination. We also deeply appreciate Prof. Muhamed Adilović and the students of IUS for their enthusiastic support and commitment, which played a key role in the success of this event.
