International THMT 15 Symposium

The International symposium ''Turbulence, Heat and Mass Transfer 2015 (THMT 15)'' will be held tomorrow in Officer's Hall (Dom Oružanih snaga BiH), in Sarajevo. The Symposium is being held under the auspices of the International Centre for Heat and Mass Transfer (ICHMT, Global Association headquartered in Ankara, which operates for more than 50 years). International University of Sarajevo (IUS) is one of the co organizers of this event where more than 200 participants from 32 countries such as Australia, Japan, America, Asia and other countries in Europe will attend this year’s Symposium. THMT 15 is eighth in a series of symposia’s that are held every three years. The parts of the works that will be presented at the Symposium are from renowned scientists such as Kerri Emanuel, Professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The Time magazine ranked Prof. Emanuel in 2006 among 100 most influential people in the world.

Past conferences have been successfully held in Lisbon (Portugal -1994), Delft (The Netherlands -1997), Nagoya (Japan-2000), Antalya (Turkey -2003), Dubrovnik (Croatia-2006), Rome (Italy-2009) and Palermo (Italy -2012). '' The Symposium is an opportunity for the revival of scientific research and professional activities in the popular scientific and technical areas of interest for this country. IUS as a higher education institution in Bosnia and Herzegovina recognized the importance of such kind of gathering and supported the organization and implementation of this important project'' - said Assist. Prof. Dr. Muhamed Hadžiabdić, Organizing Secretary of the THMT 15 Symposium and professor at the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences (FENS) of the International University of Sarajevo (IUS). This Symposium will last from September 15 to September 18, 2015.
