The International University of Sarajevo (IUS) proudly marked the conclusion of this year's first four-week International Summer School, held throughout July 2025, with a vibrant certificate ceremony celebrating the achievements of participating high school students from across Türkiye, notably from Istanbul.
Organized in collaboration with the SEDEF Foundation and led by the IUS English Language School, this immersive program brought together students for an enriching experience centered around intensive English language learning. With 25 hours of project-based instruction per week — totaling 100 hours — the program featured weekly themes designed to spark creativity, critical thinking, and active participation. The result was a dynamic and engaging classroom environment where students could strengthen their language skills through real-world communication and collaboration.
Beyond English language studies, the summer school offered a variety of academic courses focused on skill development in the afternoons, including sessions on photography, history, and cultural exchange. Participants also enjoyed access to the exceptional facilities of the IUS campus, including its modern sports halls and green recreational spaces. Their experience was further enriched by a series of guided sightseeing tours through Sarajevo and other parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina, offering deeper insight into the country’s natural beauty and historical richness.
The program concluded today with a heartfelt certificate ceremony, where both students and mentors were recognized for their commitment and participation. During the ceremony, several students shared their impressions, expressing deep gratitude for the opportunity to be part of the IUS International Summer School. Their words reflected the enthusiasm, friendships, and valuable experiences gained during their month-long stay.
This successful summer school was made possible through the joint efforts of the IUS English Language School and the support of various academic and administrative units across the university. As the students return home, they carry with them not only enhanced language skills but also unforgettable memories and new international connections.
