FENS Professors Contribute to Springer Nature Book on Macromolecular Crowding

Springer Nature Book on Macromolecular Crowding

Three professors from the IUS Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences (FENS) – Dr. Altijana Hromić-Jahjefendić, Dr. Muhamed Adilović, and Dr. Jasmin Šutković – have recently published three chapters in the book “(Macro)Molecular Crowding – Life of the Pottage”, edited by Prof. Dr. Vladimir Uversky and published by Springer Nature.

Their contributions include the following chapters:

  • Effects of Molecular Crowding on the Structural, Dynamic, and Functional Properties of Biological Macromolecules: A General Overview
  • Macromolecular Crowding in Cytoplasm and Cellular Organelles
  • Crowding and in-Cell Crystallization

The volume explores the phenomenon of macromolecular crowding, a fundamental biological concept that highlights how densely packed cellular environments influence protein folding, interactions, stability, and biochemical reactions. This book provides comprehensive insights from leading experts, offering both theoretical and experimental perspectives on mimicking and understanding these complex intracellular conditions.

The contributions of FENS professors reflect the faculty’s strong commitment to advancing international scientific research and fostering excellence in molecular biology.
