CyberFort at a Glance: New Flyer, First Newsletter, and Upcoming Milestones

CyberFort Project

IUS Life and the CyberFort Team are pleased to share two new publications that present the project’s mission, partnership, and progress to date: the official CyberFort Project Flyer and CyberFort Newsletter No. 1.

CyberFort is a European initiative that aims to enhance the quality of cybersecurity training services provided to SMEs and vocational education and training (VET) institutions that educate the workforce of the future. By developing tailored training content and tools, the project supports stronger cyber readiness and practical, work-based learning in an area that is increasingly important for education systems and businesses across Europe.

The newly released CyberFort Flyer offers a quick overview of what the project is doing to strengthen cybersecurity skills for VET schools and SMEs, introduces the international consortium, and summarizes key objectives, activities, and upcoming milestones. It is designed as an easy, at-a-glance guide for anyone who wants to understand the project’s scope and impact.

CyberFort Newsletter No. 1, the first edition of the project newsletter, brings together the latest updates, key achievements, and what comes next. In this issue, readers can find a short overview of the project’s main objectives, highlights from recent coordination meetings, progress on project results, and a preview of upcoming activities.

Through its planned results, CyberFort is working toward developing a European competence framework on cybersecurity, designing an EQF- and ECVET-aligned training curriculum, creating MOOC-based training and assessment tools, and providing SMEs with cybersecurity self-assessment tools. The project also supports cross-border recognition through micro-credential certification and promotes broader adoption among relevant stakeholders.

The project officially began with an online kickoff meeting held on 13 January 2025, led by the Istanbul Governorship’s EU and Foreign Relations Office, which focused on planning and strategizing the development of project-related products and activities. The first transnational meeting is scheduled for 9–10 April 2025 in Istanbul, Türkiye, where project partners will come together to discuss next steps, share insights, and exchange experiences to drive the project forward.

CyberFort is implemented through collaboration among eight partner institutions from Türkiye, Greece, Portugal, Albania, and Bosnia and Herzegovina, including the International University of Sarajevo (IUS). For more information and updates, visit the official website of the project.
