On Friday, May 23, 2025, a delegation from the Şişli District Directorate of National Education, comprising Ms. Sevgi Yücel, Şişli District Director of National Education; Mr. Mehmet Yıldız, Branch Manager; and Mr. İlker Bayrak, Project Coordinator, visited the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The agreement aims to foster cooperation that will enhance student success and support educational development across the district.
The delegation was welcomed by IUS Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Yıldırım and Vice-Rector for General Affairs, Associate Professor Muhammed Yasir Göz.
United by a shared mission to advance learning, this strategic partnership focuses on cultivating essential 21st-century skills: critical thinking, communication, digital fluency, and global awareness - competencies increasingly vital in today’s complex world.
The protocol outlines five key areas of collaboration: innovative projects, cultural and sports activities, teacher training, health and family support, and publications and media engagement.
Clear roles have been defined to ensure smooth implementation: the Şişli District Directorate of National Education will coordinate local efforts - facilitating access to schools, managing communication with stakeholders, and handling logistics - while IUS will contribute academic expertise, open its facilities to students and educators, and co-develop content for educational materials and publications.
This partnership goes beyond a local initiative - it represents a step toward a more inclusive, innovative, and socially connected education system.
