Since the memorandum of cooperation signing between the IUS and The Youth Theatre Sarajevo in September 2016, VACD has implemented a large number of joint projects. Most recently, student demonstrator Fatih Er was given a chance to practice theater photography and tried acting in the children’s play Mali nauk o životinjama. Assist. Prof. Roman Sulejmanpasić was the assistant set designer for this performance that premiered on April 27, 2017.
The theater in this season has been the leader in high-quality art production in Bosnia and Herzegovina with over six premieres, its reconstructed building and the opening of a new stage. Over 12 repertoire designs for this theater, which have all been posted in major advertising places in the city, were designed by expert in practice M. Furkan Hızır, as well as the visual identities, flyers, and posters for four performances. VACD master student Merisa Basić designed a catalog and a poster, and students of Advanced Drawing course assisted in set design development for a children’s play.
Management of the theater is very satisfied with the cooperation, which gives IUS an important status in the city’s cultural life and opens new horizons for academics and students for advancement in design and art industry.
