IUS and Boğaziçi University Explore New Opportunities

On Friday, August 21, 2026, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Naci İnci, Rector of Boğaziçi University, paid a courtesy visit to the International University of Sarajevo (IUS), where he was welcomed by IUS Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Osman Kuşakcı and Vice-Rector for General Affairs Assoc. Prof. Muhammed Yasir Göz.

Boğaziçi University is one of Türkiye’s most prominent and internationally recognized public research universities, known for its strong academic tradition, competitive admissions, English-medium education and internationally connected research environment. Its longstanding reputation in engineering, natural sciences, social sciences and the humanities makes it an important partner for academic cooperation, research and mobility initiatives.

The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss possibilities for strengthening academic and institutional cooperation between the two universities. Particular attention was given to potential joint projects, academic collaboration, and student and staff exchange, with both sides expressing interest in developing opportunities that would bring their academic communities closer together.

Cooperation in these areas could provide students and academics with greater opportunities for international experience, knowledge exchange and participation in joint academic and research activities.

During the visit, Prof. Dr. İnci also toured the IUS campus and became acquainted with the University’s academic facilities and learning environment.

The visit represents an encouraging step toward closer relations between IUS and Boğaziçi University and opens the way for further discussions on concrete forms of cooperation in education, research and academic mobility.

IUS looks forward to continuing the dialogue and exploring initiatives that can create meaningful opportunities for students, academic staff and both university communities.
