Prof. Dr. Grzegorz A. Skrobotowicz Delivers Guest Lecture

The Faculty of Law at the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) had the pleasure of hosting Prof. Dr. Grzegorz A. Skrobotowicz from the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin as a guest lecturer for a public lecture titled “Standards for Execution of Prison Sentence in Poland.”

The lecture provided students and attendees with a valuable opportunity to gain insight into the legal framework governing the execution of prison sentences in Poland, as well as the principles and standards that shape this important area of law. Through an engaging and well-illustrated presentation, Prof. Dr. Skrobotowicz introduced participants to key aspects of the Polish penal system, offering both theoretical and practical perspectives on the implementation of imprisonment sentences.

Particular attention was given to the legal standards, institutional mechanisms, and practical considerations involved in the execution of prison sentences, enabling students to deepen their understanding of comparative legal practices and contemporary issues in criminal law and penitentiary systems. The lecture also encouraged reflection on broader questions related to justice, legal safeguards, and the treatment of incarcerated persons within modern legal systems.

By hosting distinguished international scholars and legal experts, the Faculty of Law at IUS continues to enrich its academic environment and provide students with meaningful opportunities to engage with diverse legal perspectives and comparative approaches. Lectures of this kind play an important role in broadening students’ academic horizons and strengthening the international dimension of legal education at IUS.

We extend our sincere thanks to Prof. Dr. Grzegorz A. Skrobotowicz for his insightful and memorable lecture, and we wish him continued success in his academic work and research.
