Workshop on the topic - Heritage at war in the Mediterranean region

Three-day workshop on the topic: ''Heritage at war in the Mediterranean region” was held from 11 to 13 July 2015. The workshop was organized in collaboration with the French Institute ''Du Proche-Orient '' and under the auspices of the 'Agence pour la Francophonie Faculty' with the support of the International University of Sarajevo (IUS). A number of experts in the field of cultural and historical heritage of the countries such as Lebanon, Algeria, Egypt and Palestine participated at the workshop. The program of the workshop lasted three days and includes also sightseeing of Srebrenica for the commemoration of the 20th anniversary of genocide, a trip to Mostar and presentation at the Yunus Emre Cultural Centre in Mostar and discussions at IUS in Sarajevo.

During the discussions, participants talked about the legacy of war in all the countries represented through a program of research, including Bosnia and Herzegovina. Cooperation with different institutions in the Mediterranean region through this research program will last until the end of 2017 and will lead to significant contributions to the field through a second workshop in 2016, and a symposium in 2017.
