Week of quality workshops at IUS

Sarajevo, September 1st 2009.

Series of activities aimed to prepare our University for the accreditation process of its study programs begun this week. The program started off with the public conference "Recent Challenges in Education" that was held on Saturday, August 28th and continued with the series of quality workshops during the week of August 31st and September 5th.

The workshops are being held by Prof. dr. Bahattin Karagözoğlu who arrived to IUS from the King Abdulaziz University in Saudi Arabia specially for this occasion.

On Monday, August 31st, a first workshop for IUS Rector, Deans, Program coordinators and ELS Administrators was held on the topic of Revising resources and establishing the need for academic accreditation. The workshop continued on September 1st during which participants were divided into teams and worked in small groups.

"In general, I found these workshops to be very useful. I hope that during the next workshops we will have the opportunity to go deeper into details of the presented themes and work on real-life situations that could occure in the future" said Dr. Bisera Turković part-time lecturer at IUS who also served as the Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the United States of America, Mexico and Brazil.

On September 2nd and 3rd, workshop for instructors, lecturers and assistants is to be held on the theme of Design and assessment of courses for the outcome-based education. It is followed by the workshop for the Engineering Faculty staff on September 4th titled Accreditation requirements for engineering and allied programs. The whole program ends on September 5th with the close-up session for Rector, Vice Rector, Deans, Program Coordinators and other Academics who want to contribute
