The Vis Moot Program - Written Arguments Training kicked off at the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) today, providing an interactive workshop for students preparing for the renowned Willem C. Vis International Arbitration Moot. Organized in partnership with the IUS Faculty of Law (FLW) and Association ARBITRI, this four-day event (October 24-27, 2024) is aimed at enhancing students' skills in persuasive legal writing and effective legal research.

The workshop brings together law students from various universities across Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo, offering them the unique opportunity to collaborate and learn from expert advisors with extensive experience in international arbitration and legal practice. These experts will guide participants through practical exercises designed to help them craft well-structured legal arguments, analyze legal questions from the Vis Moot Problem, and conduct thorough legal research with a focus on persuasive writing.

This program fills a critical gap in many legal education systems, where training in these essential skills is often limited. In addition to preparing students for the Vis Moot competition, the training equips them with valuable tools for their future careers in international law.

Sponsored by the US Department of Commerce's Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) and the US Embassy in Sarajevo, with funding from the US Department of State, this initiative is an exceptional opportunity for students to gain mentorship from legal professionals while building connections with their peers from the region.
