IUS Recognizes Outstanding Taekwondo Achievements of Its Students

The International University of Sarajevo (IUS) proudly continues to support and celebrate the achievements of its students, both in academic and extracurricular fields. In recognition of their remarkable success in international taekwondo competitions, IUS students Ada Avdagić and Tarik Okerić were invited to a meeting at the Rectorate on Friday.

On behalf of the IUS Rector, Prof. Dr. Ali Osman Kuşakcı, the students were welcomed by the Vice-Rector for Academic Activities and Students’ Affairs, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tarik Namas, and the University Communications Office Manager, Mrs. Velida Handžić-Mirica.

During the meeting, the Rectorate representatives congratulated Ada Avdagić and Tarik Okerić on their outstanding sports achievements and their dedication to representing both the University and Bosnia and Herzegovina at numerous international taekwondo championships. Their success stands as a strong example of discipline, perseverance, and commitment—values that IUS actively promotes among its students.

Prof. Namas expressed full support for the students’ future endeavors, emphasizing that the doors of the IUS Rectorate will always remain open to support their continued development and success. He also highlighted the importance of promoting such achievements, recognizing the role of student-athletes in strengthening the University’s visibility and reputation at the international level.
