Vice Governor of Varaždin County presented scholarship to IUS student

Alen Kišić, Vice Governor of Varaždin County in Croatia, visited IUS and gave an interesting lecture on “Media and Politics'' to IUS students on Monday, December 14, 2015. Vice Governor Kišić met IUS Rector Yucel Ogurlu and informed him that one of IUS students from Varaždin applied and received County scholarship based on his academic achievements. His visit was the part of continuation of outstanding cooperation between educational institutions and County authorities from Varaždin and International University of Sarajevo.

During the lecture, Vice Governor Kišić interrelated media and politics with live stories and international and regional examples. He spoke about the power of the media, difference between public relations, marketing and propaganda. Students also had the opportunity to find out how the PR works and who Spin doctors are. ''To describe in more detail how important the PR system is, I will quote one of the famous and most successful businessmen of the world, American Bill Gates, who said - If I had just one dollar in my pocket, I would spend it on PR'' - said Alen Kišić during his presentation. Vice Governor Alen Kišić used this opportunity to meet with IUS students who come from the Second Gymnasium in Varaždin. At this gathering, he also presented scholarship to Ivana Šprem.
