Sedef Media Group officially opened its door on Friday, August 27, 2021 to the sophisticated studio and news center located at the campus of the International University of Sarajevo (IUS).
The media center operating under the auspice of the Foundation for Education Development Sarajevo (SEDEF) was inaugurated by Mr. Bilal Erdoğan, member of the Board of Trustees of the Archers Foundation in Turkey. The introductory speech about future activities of the Center was given by Mr. Kayhan Gül, the Director of Sedef Media Center.
The ceremony was attended by the President of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce Mr. Šekib Avdagić, the President of the IUS Board of Trustees Prof.Dr. Sevgi Kurtulmuş, the President of the Foundation for Education and Development Sarajevo (SEDEF) Mr. Hasan Topaloğlu, the IUS Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Yıldırım, the President of the Board of Trustees of the Turkish Maarif Foundation Prof. Dr. Birol Akgün and other distinguished guests.
Promoting the slogan "The new media in the Balkans", the Centre will strive to convey news from the Balkan region to the Turkish audience through the Turkish language website "balkannews.com.tr" as well as news from Turkey to the viewers and readers from Bosnia at the local language site “balkannews.ba.”
In addition to covering current news events, Sedef Media Centre, with a highly professional team of journalists, editors and camera crew, will produce and broadcast documentary and short films, promotional videos and commercials of different genres.
