Nutrigenetika Co-Founder, Ms. Selma Knezović, Inspires with Talk on Modern Nutrition Challenges

On Monday, May 5, 2025, the IUS Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences (FENS) hosted a public lecture titled “Nutrition in Practice: Client Work, Communication, and Ethical Challenges in Contemporary Nutrition Science.”

The guest speaker was Ms. Selma Knezović, an accomplished IUS alumna who completed both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Genetics and Bioengineering (GBE). She also holds a degree in Nutrition Sciences from the University of Sarajevo.

Together with her colleague Emma Fejzić, Ms. Knezović co-founded Nutrigenetika - the first and only nutrition counseling center in Visoko, specializing in personalized nutrition and nutrigenetics. Their work includes advising diverse client groups, including individuals undergoing cancer treatment.

In her lecture, Ms. Knezović explored key themes such as the fundamentals and practical applications of nutrigenetics, the use of social media in sharing nutritional and genetic advice, and the ethical considerations of working with patients in the evolving landscape of 21st-century nutrition science. Her talk offered valuable insights for students and professionals interested in the intersection of genetics, nutrition, and personalized healthcare.
