A Youth Office has officially been opened at the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) through a collaborative initiative led by the Directorate of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye (Diyanet İşleri Başkanlığı). The office was established to provide spiritual and religious guidance to young people, particularly Turkish students studying abroad.

This initiative is the result of a protocol signed between the Religious Affairs Office of the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Sarajevo and IUS. The goal is to support students in their spiritual development and education in the field of religious studies.

As part of this cooperation, male and female instructors appointed by the Directorate of Religious Affairs will organize various activities to engage students in educational and spiritual programs. These activities will include Qur’an lessons, religious courses, and seminars on a variety of topics.

Dr. Mustafa Güvenç, Religious Affairs Advisor at the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Sarajevo, stated that the signed protocol will allow for regular educational and spiritual engagement with students. “As the Directorate of Religious Affairs (Diyanet), we place great importance on offering these services to our youth studying abroad. We are pleased to contribute to the spiritual guidance of young people in this beautiful city, rich with the memories of our ancestors,” Dr. Güvenç said. He extended his gratitude to everyone involved in the project, including the Directorate of Religious Affairs (DİB) and the Türkiye Diyanet Foundation (Türkiye Diyanet Vakfı) for their moral and material support.

Prof. Dr. Ahmet Yıldırım, Rector of the International University of Sarajevo, expressed his hope that this collaboration will be beneficial to students. “As a university, we recognize the importance of supporting the spiritual life of our students,” said Rector Yıldırım.

The establishment of this Youth Office marks an important step toward nurturing the well-being and holistic development of IUS students and reinforces the university’s commitment to providing a supportive academic and personal environment.
