On Monday, October 27, 2025, students of the IUS Visual Arts and Visual Communications Design (VACD) study program, within the Photography course led by Ms. Aida Redžepagić, visited the Gaza Biennale exhibition currently on display in Sarajevo.
The National Gallery of Bosnia and Herzegovina graciously opened its doors exclusively for IUS students on a day it is usually closed to the public. The curator, Ms. Gabriela Seith, personally welcomed the group and guided them through the exhibition, leading a focused discussion on the role of photography in documenting conflict, identity, and human rights.
Following the visit to the National Gallery, students continued to the second Gaza Biennale location at the Red Cross building, where they explored another segment of the program and its artistic narrative.
This visit provided an invaluable real-world learning experience, enabling students to engage directly with contemporary international photography and to develop a deeper understanding of how visual storytelling contributes to social and political dialogue.
We are proud that Sarajevo is among the cities worldwide included in the Gaza Biennale project, and that our students have the opportunity to take part in such meaningful cultural and artistic events.
