IUS ranked in the Times Higher Education ranking list

Times Higher Education (THE), a prestigious worldwide university ranking organization from London, re-ranked the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) in its rankings, based on the criteria of success of the implementation of the UNDP Agenda 2030 which is based on achievement of 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

In the list of THE Impact Ranking 2020, among the numerous world universities that implement SDG goals through their university activities, IUS ranked in the 9th band. It is the only university in BH and the region  which met the set criteria to appear on this prestigious ranking list in two consecutive years.

This worldwide success of IUS is the result of many years of efforts to meet high standards as well as international recognition. When the UN SDG goals were adopted in 2015 and became one of the success indicators for university rankings, IUS management immediately incorporated them into their strategic plans. The IUS Quality Assurance Office has been tasked, through regular internal self-evaluations, to perform the implementation of SDG targets on the IUS level, as well as to monitor global trends in this domain.

In recent years, numerous promotions and internal communications have been implemented, resulting in many IUS professors, as well as students, becoming aware of the importance of these very ambitious, 17 sustainable development goals.

In this way, IUS not only recognised the UN SDG goals as "its own", but successfully incorporated them into its teaching, research and knowledge transfer activities.
