The Joint Erasmus+ International Staff Week between the University of Cadiz (UCA), Spain and the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) was held in the week of April 24-26, 2023, at the IUS Campus. Organized through the IUS International Relations Office (IRO), it brought together around 50 participants from the two Universities.
The intensive program began with the welcoming speech of the IUS Vice-Rector for International Cooperation and Research, Associate Professor Dr. Kanita Karađuzović-Hadžiabdić who warmly greeted the incoming staff and acclaimed the organization of such an event at IUS. IRO staff introduced the guests to the IUS organization and facilities through a campus tour that was followed by a bus tour of Sarajevo.
The IUS Mobility and Admission Coordinators introduced the “Colleague to Colleague” program which was the focal activity of the second day. The activity gathered various staff from relevant academic or administrative departments from IUS and UCA with the aim of getting to know each better, sharing knowledge, experiences, and best practices, discussing future activities and potential mutual projects.
The third day of the Staff Week started with a short visit to IUS by the Ambassador of Kingdom of Spain to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Her Excellency Maria Teresa Lizarazu Perinat. She expressed appreciation for being invited to address her compatriots at the Erasmus+ International Staff Week and shared hope that this exchange may lead to valuable new ways of collaboration between IUS and the Embassy of Kingdom of Spain in BiH.
Following the Ambassador’s talk, the Director of the Secretariat for International Projects and Networks, Mr. Javier Izguierdo Anton held a presentation on the Erasmus+ international projects implemented by the UCA International Projects Unit. The presentation was focused on good practices and ideas, discussed topics related to managing international projects, strengthening current partnerships between universities, and creating new contacts.
