Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS) of the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) opened the II International Conference on Education, Culture and Identity under the name "New trends and challenges of today’s Europe "on Thursday, October 15, 2015. The Conference brought together 140 scientists and researchers from different scientific fields, such as pedagogy, linguistics, literature, art and other. Participants of the Conference include professors and researchers from the region and around the world: BiH, China, Croatia, Hungary, India, Iran, Italy, Malaysia, Nigeria, Poland, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Slovenia, Turkey, USA and Ukraine. The ceremony was opened with the speeches of distinguished guests: Advisor at The Federal Minister of Education and Science, Sanela Kuko, as well as IUS Rector, Prof. Dr. Yücel Oğurlu. Before the Conference, IUS Rector, Prof. Dr. Yücel Oğurlu welcomed the key note speakers at his office where they briefly spoke about the Conference and IUS as well.
By organizing this Conference, IUS continues to nurture the tradition of holding scientific meetings, conferences and seminars that involve researchers and scientists from around the world. One of the most important topics of this year's Conference is education, which is particularly important taking into account the establishment of the new Faculty of Education (FEDU), under which three study programs will be offered: Computer Education and Instructional Technology, Turkish Language and Literature and English Language and Literature. Student enrollment at the Faculty of Education will start in academic 2016/2017 year.
