On Monday, March 17, 2025, under the guidance of Associate Professor Branko Vekić, MA, the Light and Shadow VACD Student Photo Exhibition opened at the Gallery of the Secondary School for Applied Arts in Sarajevo. The exhibition showcased the creative works of Visual Arts and Visual Communications Design (VACD) students from IUS.
This inspiring event brought together students, professors, pupils, art enthusiasts, and numerous guests, all eager to appreciate the talent and dedication of young photographers.
During the opening ceremony, Professor Vekić addressed the audience, emphasizing how the exhibition reflects the students' enthusiasm and passion, which radiate through their displayed works. He noted that they embraced every challenge with vigor and absorbed every bit of knowledge with poetic delight. Through their artistic journey, they explored both the technical and creative dimensions of photography, understanding that these elements must harmonize to create compelling visual art.
The students worked on various thematic assignments, including city lights, still life, urban nature, and animal portraits. Each task required them to master different camera controls, such as aperture, shutter speed, and ISO, while also paying close attention to lighting, shadows, and capturing striking moments.
