Nevenka Savić, Head of the Directorate for European Integration of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina visited the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) on Thursday April 2, 2015. As part of her visit to the University, she gave a very interesting and beneficial lecture on “Integration in EU-Phases and Challenges for Bosnia and Herzegovina".
This distinguished speaker spoke about the complex, long-lasting and dynamic process of negotiations on accession of BiH to the European Union. During the lecture, she has given an overview of different phases of accession negotiations and presented information that BiH has made so far. In the course of the lecture, students had the opportunity to learn more on what is expected from Bosnia and Herzegovina in the accession process into the EU, and and expectations on candidate status as well.
At the end of the lecture, Savić said that strong commitment and work on progress at different levels of government exists, but it is also necessary to demonstrate the political will to overcome the problems Bosnia and Herzegovina is facing in its path to fulfillment of tasks of acquiring the candidate status. Nevenka Savić was born on February 6, 1960 in Zenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina. She graduated from high school in 1978, in Sarajevo, and completed her undergraduate studies at the Faculty of Economics in Sarajevo, in 1982.
