DC-VET WB Project Promotes Social Inclusion Through Creative Education

DC-VET WB Project

In 2024, the Learning for Life section of the Dc-VET WB Project made strides in promoting social inclusion within educational systems. One of the year's standout activities took place in November 2024 at the High School of Catering and Tourism Sarajevo, featuring a workshop focused on environmental awareness and recycling.

The workshop, titled Recycle and Save the Planet, brought together students and educators to emphasize the importance of recycling and protecting the environment. Ecology teacher Mihrija Suljević led the session with an engaging lecture for section members, underlining actionable steps for sustainable living.

The workshop preparation and creative activities were overseen by section leaders Merima Džirlo and Emina Popara-Užičanin, with essential psychological guidance provided by Meliha Trumić-Ašćerić.

During the session, students explored creative recycling ideas for glass, plastic, and paper. They collectively worked on recycling paper rolls into functional and decorative holders for school supplies, showcasing both their creativity and commitment to sustainability.

This hands-on activity highlighted the importance of integrating recycling practices into daily life, fostering environmental awareness among young people. The workshop also demonstrated the creativity and engagement of students in the IPP program, reflecting their dedication to building a sustainable future. By equipping students with knowledge and practical skills, the initiative prepares them to take meaningful action in preserving our planet while building inclusive and sustainable communities.
