Assistant Professor Dr. Adi Ćorović from the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences (FENS) Architecture (ARCH) study program at the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) has been awarded a grant in March 2025 as part of the Call for Applications of Individuals within the Culture and Creativity in the Western Balkans (CC4WBs) project.
This grant will support Dr. Ćorović’s research and the development of a book based on his previous PhD work, focusing on the phenomenon of critical restoration. His project, titled "Critical Restoration and Authenticity in the Context of Different Contemporary Currents on the Example of the Opus of Andrea Bruno" (Restauro critico e autenticita’ nel contesto di differenti correnti contemporanee sul’esempio dell’opera di Andrea Bruno), explores contemporary approaches to architectural restoration.
The project is supported by UNESCO through the Culture and Creativity for the Western Balkans (CC4WBs) initiative, which is funded by the European Union. This initiative aims to foster dialogue and strengthen the cultural and creative sectors in the Western Balkans, promoting socio-economic impact.
This phase of the project, set to be completed by the end of 2025, will finance:
- Research on essential documentation at the University Institute of Architecture of Venice (IUAV).
- A research residency in Italy.
- Two expert book reviews by distinguished professors from Politecnico di Torino and IUAV Venice.
This recognition highlights Dr. Ćorović’s contribution to architectural research and reinforces IUS’s commitment to academic excellence and cultural innovation.
