Turkish Scout visits IUS

Visit of His Excellency, Mr. Koksal Toptan, Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey

Sarajevo, August 18th 2009

During his cycling project across the Balkan Peninsula, young Turkish scout Ahmet Arslan visited International University of Sarajevo on August 18th 2009. This 20-year old student started his 45 day cycling adventure in Turkey, then continued through Bulgaria, Macedonia, Kosovo, Montenegro and arrived in Bosnia on August 17th.

At IUS premises Mr. Arslan was greeted by the Rector Prof. Dr. B. Gültekin Çetiner. After that Mr. Arslan and Mr. Çetiner discussed possible joint projects between the Turkish scouts and the IUS and agreed that this kind of cooperation is possible in the near future. Mr. Arslan agreed to offer his help in organizing IUS Scout Leadership Training that will happen at the end of month of September.

"I am really amazed by the Bosnia and Herzegovina and the hospitality I received here. I wasn't expecting it" told us Mr. Arslan who will be spending a week in our country.
