As part of the Erasmus+ Staff Mobility Program, Prof. Dr. Almasa Mulalić from the English Language and Literature, Teaching (ELT) study program and Asst. Prof. Dr. Nadira Puškar Mustafić from the English Language and Literature (ELIT) study program represented the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) during a teaching mobility visit to Bartın University, Türkiye, held from 1 to 5 June 2026.
During their stay, the professors visited the Rectorate and met with colleagues from Bartın University. They also presented the International University of Sarajevo, speaking about its academic programs, international profile, and student-centered approach, with special focus on the ELT and ELIT study programs.
As part of the teaching activities, both professors delivered guest lectures to students under the supervision of Asst. Prof. Dr. Kenan Çetin. Asst. Prof. Dr. Nadira Puškar Mustafić introduced the literature courses offered within the ELIT and ELT study programs at IUS and spoke about the role of literature in enriching students intellectually and spiritually. Her lecture also addressed the importance of literary studies in developing critical thinking, empathy, cultural awareness, and a deeper understanding of human experience.
Prof. Dr. Almasa Mulalić focused on language courses, current trends in language teaching, and the importance of continuous professional development in education. She discussed the need for teachers and future educators to follow new pedagogical approaches and respond to the changing demands of language learning.
The visit also included student presentations of projects designed for digital learning spaces. These presentations showed how language learning can be connected with educational technologies and classroom practice.
In addition to the lectures, the professors met with faculty members, program representatives, and representatives of the Erasmus Office to discuss future cooperation, academic exchange, and possible joint activities. The visit continued the academic connection established during the previous visit of Asst. Prof. Dr. Kenan Çetin and Asst. Prof. Dr. Neslihan Köse to the International University of Sarajevo.
During the visit, Asst. Prof. Dr. Neslihan Köse from Bartın University’s Faculty of Education introduced the professors to the university’s beautiful campus and its facilities.
The Erasmus+ mobility visit strengthened the academic connection between the International University of Sarajevo and Bartın University and opened further possibilities for cooperation in English language teaching, literature, and higher education.
