The International University of Sarajevo (IUS) proudly celebrates the remarkable achievement of its student Ammar Yasir Çelik, a student of the IUS Faculty of Law (FLW), who delivered an outstanding performance at the first-ever Jajce Triathlon Challenge (70.3) - one of the most demanding endurance race formats in the world.
Competing in an event that tested the very limits of physical and mental endurance, Ammar successfully completed a grueling course consisting of a 1,900-meter swim in Lake Jajce, a 90-kilometer cycling segment with 580 meters of elevation gain, and a 21-kilometer run with an additional 160 meters of elevation. His performance on this exceptionally challenging course was a true demonstration of discipline, determination, and athletic excellence.
Among a strong field of competitors from different parts of the world, Ammar achieved an impressive result, finishing 5th in the highly competitive 24–30 age category. His achievement at such a prestigious and physically demanding event is a source of great pride for the entire IUS community.
Participation in the first edition of the Jajce Triathlon Challenge already made this event historic, but Ammar’s success has made the occasion even more special for IUS. By competing at a high international level and securing a top placement in his category, he has shown not only exceptional athletic ability, but also the perseverance and fighting spirit that inspire others around him.
Ammar’s result stands as a powerful reminder of what can be achieved through dedication, consistency, and a strong mindset. His success reflects the values of commitment and excellence that the University strives to encourage in all areas of student life - academic, professional, and personal.
The International University of Sarajevo warmly congratulates Ammar Yasir Çelik on this exceptional accomplishment and wishes him continued success in his future sporting and personal endeavors. His achievement has made the entire campus proud and has added another inspiring story to the growing list of IUS student successes.
