IUS Welcomes Freshman Students with Orientation Day 2025

IUS Orientation 2025

The International University of Sarajevo (IUS) officially welcomed its new generation of students with the IUS Freshman Orientation Day 2025, held on September 25, 2025 at the IUS Campus.

The program was designed to introduce freshmen to their faculties, professors, and the wide range of opportunities awaiting them at IUS. In his opening remarks, Acting Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Osman Kuşakcı addressed the students, emphasizing that their university years will be a time of growth, discovery, and building lifelong friendships. He also highlighted the importance of networking and research.

Deans and program coordinators of all six faculties – Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences (FENS), Faculty of Medical Sciences (FMS), Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS), Faculty of Business and Administration (FBA), Faculty of Law (FLW), and Faculty of Education (FEDU) - presented their study programs and encouraged students to take advantage of the supportive academic environment and international opportunities IUS offers. Students also had a chance to hear from the Double Diploma Program Coordinator, the Student Affairs Office (SAO), the International Relations Office (IRO), as well as the University Communications Office (UCO) and its Student and Career Center (SCC).

In addition to the main program, the IUS English Language School (ELS) organized a special orientation for Turkish students who will first spend time improving their English. This way, IUS ensures that all newcomers - both local and international - feel supported and prepared to begin their studies.

The Orientation Day also featured an engaging Treasure Hunt, where students teamed up to explore the campus, complete tasks, and get to know their new environment in a fun and interactive way. The activity not only helped freshmen learn more about the university but also created a welcoming atmosphere for making new friends.

The event once again highlighted IUS as a vibrant and diverse academic community, bringing together students and professors from more than 45 countries worldwide.
