Writer, Producer and Director Christopher Peditto Gave Lecture at IUS

Department of Arts organized the visiting lecture on Fundamentals of Casting of American director Christopher Peditto. The introductory lecture was given by Head of Department of Arts, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lejla Panjeta, on the importance of auditioning and Method Acting that originates from the systematic approach to the art of acting established by Stanislavski.

Students and academics of arts were involved in the discussion and Q&A session was engaging. The topic is one of the crucial in filmmaking and raises a lot of interest about the profession of casting director in film production.

Christopher Peditto is a writer, producer and director who studied drama at Carnegie-Mellon University.He began his career as the co-founding artistic director igLoo Theatre in Chicago (1985-98), where he directed many plays, as well as the acclaimed Chicago premiere of Lee Breuer’s A Prelude To Death In Venice. He has co-produced documentaries for HBO, including the Emmy award-winning films Talked to Death and Dead Blue: Surviving Depression. From 2000-2015, Peditto worked as a producer at HBO Online, creating award-winning websites and original content. Peditto made his feature film directorial debut with Light and the Sufferer. He also wrote the screenplays Black Wings Has My Angel (with Wild at Heart writer Barry Gifford), and Hang On To A Dream, based on the life of music legend Tim Hardin. Peditto recently directed the dark comedy, Fearing's Funhouse, based on the life and poetry of noted noir author Kenneth Fearing. The play premiered in November 2016 at Club Monument in Sarajevo. It will be released as a feature film in 2017.
