IUS International Relations Office is actively involved in the project entitled 'Mevlana exchange program' which is funded by the Higher Education Council of Turkey (YÖK). As part of the Mevlana exchange program, Turkish students have the opportunity to study abroad for one or two semesters. The same opportunity is given to students who come from other countries to attend classes at one of the Turkish universities.
This beneficial program includes educational activities at the host institution for a period of six hours per week or reciprocal, and academic staff exchange which allows professors to hold classes at least once a week or to a maximum of three months. Aim of these activities is mainly the exchange of students and academic staff between the educational institutions in Turkey and other countries.
In this academic year, for the first time ever, IUS will welcome more than 20 students who will spend one or two semesters at IUS. The first group of students, who arrived in Sarajevo in early October, comes from three state universities, Sakarya, Karabuk and Giresun. Students are staying in IUS dormitories and are already successfully integrated into the international environment of the University.
