IUS VACD Students Bring Local Fashion Brands to Life Through Creative Editorials

IUS VACD Students

Students of the IUS Visual Arts and Visual Communication Design (VACD) study program, under the mentorship of Adjunct Instructor Aida Redžepagić, created a series of fashion editorials for Bosnia and Herzegovina-based brands Werkstatt, Molimao, Plus Minus, and Ants (Kutcha) as part of the Photography II course.

The project brought together photography, art direction, styling, production, and contemporary visual storytelling, giving students the opportunity to experience the creative process in a professional setting. Designed as a simulation of real client and brand work, the assignment required students to independently develop the concept, moodboard, casting, styling, production, and final visual identity of each editorial.

Through this project, students explored the relationship between fashion, photography, and contemporary visual culture, while also reflecting on the ways in which young creatives interpret the local artistic and fashion scene in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The editorials combined a documentary approach, fashion aesthetics, and an authentic atmosphere characteristic of a new generation of visual artists in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“I always try to bring photography closer to students as something much more than technical knowledge. It is important to me that they understand how photography functions in the real world - through collaboration, ideas, emotion, and visual identity. I am especially pleased to see local brands becoming a space where young authors can develop their own visual language and build professional experience while still studying,” said Aida Redžepagić, photographer and lecturer at IUS.

Through projects such as this, VACD students have the opportunity to work on concrete creative assignments that connect them with the local art and fashion scene, while developing their own authorial approach to photography and contemporary visual storytelling.

The fashion editorials were created for four Bosnia and Herzegovina-based brands. The editorial for MOLIMAO was developed by students Adnan Keserović, Belma Karačić, and Nejla Mustajbegović.

The editorial for PLUS MINUS was created by students Amila Redžić, Namik Ahmethodžić, Uvejs Bektaš, Sumeja Kovačević, Edi Pallaska, and Enna Tatlić, with Dželila Sarajlić as the model.

Students Džemal Begić, Muhamed Fejzić, and Iman Ibrišević worked on the project for WERKSTATT.

The editorial for ANTS (Kutcha) was realized through the collaboration of students Enis Prijić, Salko Hamzić, Dželila Fajić, Medina Ljuca, and Sara Kakeš, with Antonela Jurišić as the model.
