23 World contest in Reciting Quran was held under the auspices of the Ministry of Waqf of Egypt from 17 to 24 April 2015. 120 participants from more than 70 countries took part in the competition that lasted 5 days. This event was officially opened by the Minister of Waqf State of Egypt, Dr. Muhamed Muhtar Džumua, who emphasized the importance of cherishing and learning from inexhaustible messages of the Holy book of Qur'an.
Hfz. Abdussamed Podojak, second year student of the Genetics and Bioengineering Program of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences (FENS) at the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) was chosen by the Islamic Community of Bosnia and Herzegovina to represent Bosnia and Herzegovina at this contest where he won the prestigious 6th place. '' This was a wonderful experience for me. I learned that no matter how long I spend time in leaning and reciting Qur'an, somehow it always seems little. It is the only source from which our souls can draw inspiration, teachings and "be fulfilled" - said Abdussamed.
