Architecture programme at International University of Sarajevo hosted in collaboration with Fatih Sultan Mehmed Vakif University from Istanbul and University of Sarajevo a Workshop titled: ''Sustainable and Affordable Housing''. The Workshop started on 25th April and finalized on Friday 29th April 2016. It brought together experts and professors from different countries. On behalf of the organizer, coordinator of the Workshop senior Assistant Lejla Krivosic Dizdarevic welcomed the participants of the Workshop and thanked Prof. Mine Topcubasi Cilingiroglu of FSMVU, Assist. Prof. Dr. Amra Hadzimuhamedovic, Prof. John Dee and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Edin Jahic of IUS as well as Prof. Dzenana Bijedic of AFS for their lectures and contribution to the first day of the conference and introduction to the topic of the Workshop.
The following days were used in the positive and constructive manner in which students, participants of the Workshop, researched traditional surroundings methods of constructions and ways of living in order to produce the best possible solutions for the given site in one of the Sarajevo mahalas.
The Workshop concluded on 29th April with a series of presentations of very well thought of solutions to the sustainable and affordable housing problem that today’s cities and societies are faced with. The final presentations turned into the fruitful discussion between the groups of student participants of the Workshop.
Further collaborations between the above named universities have also been planned.
