On Thursday, April 24, 2025, the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences (FENS) at the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) had the pleasure of hosting a thought-provoking FENS Talk featuring Mr. Jonathan Adams, President of SALIX Data, a U.S.-based company renowned for its innovative approach to digital transformation and artificial intelligence. With more than two decades of experience and over 2,500 clients across sectors including healthcare, law, and enterprise, SALIX has carved out a unique role in democratizing high-end AI and digital solutions for small and mid-size organizations.
Mr. Adams delivered a comprehensive overview of artificial intelligence, featuring real-world video examples that illustrated its growing impact across industries. He traced the evolution of AI from the 1950s to today, emphasizing key milestones that led to generative AI - technology capable of creating content and solving complex problems. The talk highlighted its benefits in boosting productivity, creativity, and efficiency, while also addressing risks such as misinformation, bias, and ethical concerns. He also introduced practical, low-cost AI tools for task automation, particularly valuable for small businesses, and touched on other emerging technologies shaping the digital future.
This event was initiated through a valuable collaboration with HUB Homework and its founder, Mr. Mirza Rastoder, an IUS alumnus, who continues to support and inspire academic and entrepreneurial growth within our community.
The session attracted a diverse audience of students, academics, and tech enthusiasts eager to understand the implications of AI in both business and society. Mr. Adams not only delivered technical insights but also inspired the audience to explore the ethical and practical dimensions of working with AI.
We extend our gratitude to Mr. Jonathan Adams for his engaging and informative presentation, and to Mr. Mirza Rastoder for helping make this valuable event possible. Events like these continue to enrich the FENS community by connecting global expertise with local ambition.
