„Energy efficiency in buildings“ lecture held at IUS

On Monday 28th March Prof. Sanela Klarić, head of the Green Council Organization held a lecture at IUS. Prof. Klarić presented a project titled „Energy efficiency in buildings – a basis for sustainable socio-economic growth in BiH“ which is supported by the Royal Norwegian Embassy.  The general scope of this project  is to stress out the importance of the existing researches on potential of local, natural insulating materials to all participants in the energy efficiency and climate change sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina and to educate them how to recognize and implement these products in the on-going reconstruction projects and new construction. Sen. Assist. Tijana Tufek-Memišević who has been involved as researcher on this project stressed out the importance of architecture students at FENS to get acquainted with such sustainable materials and building techniques. The lecture evolved into a fruitful discussion where audience had the opportunity to observe material samples of sheep wool insulation, wooden fiber and hamp insulation products brought by Prof. Klarić, and discuss their ongoing research.  The audience at IUS was invited to actively participate in ongoing projects of the Green Council Organization.
