On Friday, March 3, 2017, the guest lecturer Dr. Sencer Yeralan gave the seminar "Everything you always wanted to know about systems, but were too afraid to ask" for IUS students and staff. Dr. Yeralan is the engineering Ph.D. with a rich, bright and diverse academic experience, which he acquired mostly in the USA. In the seminar about "Systems View of Things" adapted for general audience, Dr. Yeralan offered answers to questions such as: What is a system? What is the “systems view” of things? What is systems science and systems engineering? How would I recognize a system if it unexpectedly walked in to my office? etc.
Dr. Yeralan currently serves as professor at Yaşar University in Izmir, Turkey. His activities focus on developing the new doctoral program at Yaşar University, and cultivating international and university - industry relations, which will lead to the establishment of a think tank, and large scale on-line courses.
