On Wednesday, 27 May 2015, Delegation of USA Embassy visited the International University of Sarajevo (IUS). Delegation was consisted of Attaché for Culture and Education of the US Embassy in BiH, Eric Catalfamo and Senior Advisor for Education and Culture Elizabeta Delalić and Elmina Kulašić. The distinguished guests were welcomed by the Rector of IUS, Prof. Dr. Yücel Oğurlu, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muhidin Mulalić, Assist. Prof. Dr. Nudžejma Obralić and Senior Assistant, Nerkez Opačin.
Rector Oğurlu presented the work and development of the University to his guests and he spoke about what has been done so far during the past years in the fields of higher education, building university campus, exchange of academic staff and students. Attaché Catalfamo talked about the possibilities of cooperation between the Embassy of the United States and IUS in form of academic staff exchange. US academic staff and researchers would get opportunity to spend one year in BiH where they could teach at IUS under the Fulbright exchange program.
The guests have expressed particular interest to be the partner for the International Conference on Education, Culture and Identity – (ICECI'15) and the Twentieth Anniversary of the Dayton Peace Agreement: Reflections of the Past and Expectations for the Future Conference that will be held from 20th - 22nd November 2015 at IUS.
