On Tuesday, April 22, 2025, in an inspiring and thought-provoking guest lecture titled “Educators as Catalysts of Understanding: Exploring the Nature of Communication in Education,” students of the ELT22.1 course (English Language Teaching Methodology) were treated to a unique and enriching academic experience.
The session was delivered by Assistant Professor Nejira Mulahmetović, MA, who was warmly welcomed as a guest of Professor Damir Kahrić and his ELT322.1 students. Prof. Mulahmetović, who comes from the Visual Arts and Visual Communications Design (VAC) study program at the International University of Sarajevo (IUS), brought a fresh and interdisciplinary perspective to the classroom, weaving together themes of curiosity, creativity, and teaching methodology in a seamless and engaging manner.
Throughout the lecture, Prof. Mulahmetović explored the role of communication as a foundational element in education, emphasizing how effective communication shapes understanding, encourages critical thinking, and cultivates meaningful learning environments. Her approach resonated deeply with the students, sparking ideas about how future educators can become not only conveyors of knowledge but also facilitators of dialogue and discovery.
ELT and ELIT programs extend sincere thanks to Assistant Professor Nejira Mulahmetović for her time, insight, and inspiration, and to Professor Damir Kahrić for organizing this meaningful event. It was a true testament to the power of collaboration and interdisciplinary learning in shaping the educators of tomorrow.
