First generation of BIT Camp participants were awarded certificates at the ceremony held on Friday, 8 May 2015 in the main amphitheater of the International University of Sarajevo (IUS). Damir Ibrišimović, President of BIT Alliance addressed the audience emphasizing the reasons of what makes the BIT Camp different from the main educational system: "We were looking for highly motivated and hardworking people willing to sacrifice themselves for knowledge. Among them we recognized those who have the potential to solve logical problems. We have chosen the best among us to transfer the knowledge and create processes to support the development of this knowledge ''- said Ibrišimović.
Assist. Prof. Dr. Jasmina Hasić-Telalović spoke stressed the importance of educating young people in various fields but also in the IT industry. Among honorable speakers were also representatives of donors: Ian Brown, Director of the representative office of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in BiH, Alex Paine, Senior Manager of the Programme support for small businesses at EBRD London and Andrew Wilson, Project Manager of MarketMakers, supported by the Swiss government. They expressed satisfaction with the support provided to BIT Camp first-generation participants and wished them good luck in their new positions. Selection of second generation of BIT Camp applicants will be carried out soon. Results on which 50 participants of about 1400 applicants will be selected to get education in the field of Java / Android and Microsoft NET technologies that will start at the end of May 2015, will be known next week.
