On October 21, 2024, JU SS Hadžići celebrated Apple Day as part of the Work Package 3: Fostering Social Inclusion in VET Systems project activity. Prof. Jasmina Pezo, along with staff and students, honored this "queen of fruits" with a variety of engaging activities that highlighted the apple’s importance, rich history, and symbolism. The event kicked off with an informative presentation covering topics such as waste reduction, the impact of fruit on general health, and the apple’s cultural significance.
In a lively and cheerful atmosphere, participants enjoyed preparing crepes and a traditional Bosnian apple pie. This hands-on activity promoted healthy eating and introduced students to the diversity of apple varieties and apple-based treats.
For those unable to attend the workshop, a humanitarian bazaar was set up in the school hall. With apples donated by a school board member, students sold sweets to raise funds for school meals for underprivileged students. Special thanks are due to Prof. Maid Mujić and his dedicated students, who worked tirelessly to prepare the treats that made the bazaar a success.
The event’s inclusive spirit shone brightly, as students in the Individual Support Plan (ISP) actively participated through peer-to-peer learning, teamwork, and creativity. Together, they created a memorable celebration of Apple Day, illustrating that with collective effort, anything is possible!
