In the period between 27th – 28th of June 2014, the 3rd Regional Conference on “Soft Computing'' was held at the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) in organization of renown lecturers and academicians of IUS. All participants of the Conference were addressed in his welcoming speech by a distinguished Emeritus Prof. Dr. Mehmet Can from the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences (FENS).
Prof. Dr. Mehmet Can emphasized the importance of such a Conference and said that at IUS people are very enthusiastic when it comes to organization and implementation of successful and high-quality conferences, which aim to provide an overview of contemporary trends in computer and technical sciences, and especially in the area of soft computing. Soft computing represents an efficient tool for modeling, management, decision making and problem solving in complex systems, such as the decision-making process in a variety of complex situations.
Among the prominent speakers at the Conference was Prof. Dr. Jasmin Velagić (Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Sarajevo), and academic staff of IUS, Prof. Dr. Migdad Hodžić, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Abdulhamit Subasi, Dženan Zukić and Senior Assistant Sadina Gagula-Palalić, as well as many others.
