Yesterday, on September 25th, 2013, at the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) a workshop on the subject of the functioning of the local governments was presented by the representatives of the local government of the Republic of Turkey who shared they experiences.
At the workshop IUS Rector, Prof. Dr. Yücel Oğurlu, gave his opening speech and welcomed the guests. During the workshop, structural characteristics of local the administrations in Turkey were presented, as well as the general structure of the local governments and the system of its local communities in Turkey.
The workshop was organized by IUS, Hacettepe University and the Confederation of the Local Governments of the Republic of Turkey with the support of the Turkish Post.
The workshop was attended by the General Director for Local Governments at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, Dr. Ilker Gündüzöz, the professor at the Hacettepe University, Asst. Prof. Dr. Kemal Oktem and Professor from the Turkish Gazi University, Prof. Dr. Kemal Gormez.
During the conference, in the IUS lobby, an exhibition of the historical post stamps of the Republic of Turkey were presented as well.
