Presentation of Project Results

FIPBOA

On October 9, 2024, a public lecture was held at the International University of Sarajevo to present the findings of the research project Relationship Between Financial Behavior, Financial Well-Being, and Sustainable Consumption: A Multidimensional Analysis, funded by the Ministry of Science, Higher Education, and Youth of the Sarajevo Canton.

The presentation was delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Šejma Aydin, and it focused on financial behavior and the purchasing intention for sustainable products in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with a particular emphasis on Sarajevo Canton. The results highlighted key trends in consumer decision-making, the role of financial security, and the factors influencing sustainable consumption. The findings indicated that financial security has a complex relationship with purchasing intentions for second-hand and eco-friendly products, suggesting that individuals with higher financial security are less likely to engage in sustainable consumption practices.

The attendees engaged in a discussion on the implications of the findings. They shared their comments and posed questions regarding potential policy measures, behavioral incentives, and strategies to promote sustainable financial behavior. The discussion underscored the need for further research and initiatives to integrate sustainability into financial decision-making processes.
